START helps parents raise happy and healthy families in a world that is filled with screen time and social media pressures. Our Screen Sanity program helps families maximize the benefits of technology, but minimize the side effects our kids are experiencing, including loneliness, depression, anxiety, and suicide.

The purpose of this role is to build, integrate, and scale START as it seeks to rapidly serve more families. A person would love this role if they like taking ideas to action, understanding trade-offs and priorities, managing processes, managing a variety of distribution channels, handling day-to-day operations, making sure every person in the organization has what they need to execute, and being responsive to the needs of the organization.


Operational Leadership (55%)

  • Help define, refine and implement against organizational strategy and goals.
  • Implement a cohesive operating system across team members that aligns us toward key priority activities, ensures clarity of lanes, maximizes team engagement, and creates traction towards strategic goals.
  • Support the fundraising process and strategy, managing forecasts and funding visibility.
  • Help increase organization-wide efficiencies related to roles and responsibilities, job descriptions and hiring, onboarding and training, insurance and financial management, and other critical HR items
  • Implement key communications/scheduling with top 25 organization stakeholders, creating more intentional relationship management processes.
  • Create and manage internal budgets, reporting and ensure financial integrity and processes.

Scaling and Implementing START's training and tools (45%)

  • Turn ideas into actionable, scalable programs for various audiences (e.g., youth-serving organizations, schools, corporations).
  • Partner with Executive Director on select key partner relationships.
  • Manage special projects to build value for the organization, from the launch of new programs to small research projects to support with key strategic decisions.

This person currently reports to the Executive Director. This is at-will employment and all content developed is the property of We Start Now, Inc. Top candidates will have previous experience managing multiple workstreams in a nonprofit, corporate or office setting. This is scoped as a full-time position, however, for the right candidate, this role could potentially be scaled to be ~30 hours per week. Work will primarily be remote (from home). Kansas City area residence a plus.: Initial compensation will be commensurate with experience and ongoing compensation based on performance.
