DevOps Coordinator

ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

Rising Tide Capital (www.RisingTideCapital.org) is seeking a talented individual with an interest in entrepreneurship and a demonstrated history in providing support to a fundraising/grant management office to join our team of professionals to make a difference in the world and to participate in the growth of an innovative, dynamic non-profit organization.

 

Based in Jersey City, NJ and located on Martin Luther King Drive, Rising Tide Capital is committed to the economic empowerment of individuals and communities through entrepreneurship. Our mission is to assist low-income individuals and communities to build strong businesses that transform lives, strengthen families, and create sustainable communities. Through business education, consulting, technical assistance, and partnerships with local micro-lenders, Rising Tide Capital harnesses the entrepreneurial energy that exists in distressed urban communities and uses it to create jobs and economic opportunity for traditionally underserved populations.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Development Operations Coordinator performs administrative duties related to fundraising and grants management, supporting activities and strategic operations designed to increase the institutional capacity of Rising Tide Capital. This position is responsible for managing data related to fundraising, supporting grants management operations, and helping to implement development and donor communications strategies that increase the financial resilience and sustainability of the organization.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

  • Data Management (60%)
    • Record and track institutional grant awards, donations, sponsorships and contracts on an ongoing basis in RTC’s Salesforce database; create and send acknowledgement letters to donors
    • Record and update donor information and documentation in Salesforce and SharePoint databases; maintain comprehensive files on donors, prospects, grant awards, fundraising projects, and fundraising initiatives
    • Provide regular and ad-hoc fundraising reports to the development team and senior leadership
    • Reconcile data with Finance as it relates to accounting of grants, contracts, donations, and other revenue; assist Finance with contracting invoices
    • Assist with identifying and implementing data integrity measures, developing a routine data cleanup practice including maintaining records, initiating and updating reports, merging duplicate records, completing standard imports and clean-up projects as assigned
    • Support information sharing and coordination amongst internal departments, especially Development, Analytics, Finance and Programs

 

  • Grants Administration (30%)
    • Gather and prepare supplementary documents and materials related to grant proposals and reports, such as expenditure reports, budgets, thank you letters, board resolutions, email correspondence, client testimonials and anecdotal information, etc.
    • Support grant reporting by entering project deliverables into Salesforce database and using dashboards and reports to provide timely impact data

 

  • Research, Events (10%)
    • Support Development staff in researching high net worth individuals, donor prospects, alumni, board candidates, private companies, and corporations
    • Use print, electronic, and internet-based methods to pursue research and collect facts
    • Support virtual and in-person events such as fundraisers, networking events with donors, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • 2 to 5 years of experience working in a non-profit, educational or other field that incorporates development/advancement functions
  • Proficient in Adobe, Excel and Word
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Comfortable learning and applying new application and programs
  • Superior organizational, multitasking and time management skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor
  • Works effectively with various and diverse individuals and groups
  • Creative, positive approach toward problem-solving, collaboration and teamwork

Physical Demands:

Some evening/weekend work and regional travel is required. Work is often performed in an office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about the inside of the office to access file cabinets, offices machinery, etc. The person must be able to communicate information so that others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The person must be able to observe details at close range. The person may have to occasionally move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across the office for various needs.

Salary for this position:

$55,000 – $65,000
