Keseb is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization building an ecosystem for cross-country learning, collaboration, and innovation to advance inclusive democracies.

Keseb is a fiscally sponsored project of Issue One, the leading cross partisan political reform group in Washington, D.C.


Keseb seeks to hire a Manager, Projects and Operations to join the founding team of Keseb and engage in the critical work of defending and strengthening democracy domestically and internationally. The Manager will report to Keseb’s Founder and CEO and work closely with Keseb’s leadership and team to develop and execute Keseb’s strategic goals, support the execution of programs as well as manage the organization’s operations related to fundraising, measurement, communications and broader infrastructure building. This individual should have an interest in social impact start-ups, organization building, operations, project management, democracy, innovation, philanthropy and systems change.

Keseb is working to build an ecosystem for cross-country learning, collaboration and innovation through: (1) facilitating a fellowship program that supports democracy entrepreneurs (2) convening a global multi-stakeholder network of democracy champions, and (3) generating actionable insights for the field.

Core responsibilities of the Manager, Projects and Operations will include operations and engagement across Keseb’s aforementioned three programmatic areas but are not limited to:

Organization-wide Project Management and Operations (~20%)

  • Providing org-wide project management aligned with Keseb’s multi-year vision and strategy;
  • Supporting Keseb’s Founding Managing Partner in developing strategies and processes to measure Keseb's progress and impact;
  • Supporting fundraising operations including pipeline management, proposal and grant report writing;
  • Developing and maintaining organizational systems that enable operational excellence and efficiency;
  • Developing and running staff development processes and other staff supports;
  • Supporting the maintenance of Keseb's financial records and models and managing processes with Keseb's fiscal sponsor; and
  • Partnering with Keseb’s leadership to continually seek and identify opportunities to improve Keseb’s strategy, culture, and programming.

Keseb Global Democracy Champions Network (~30%)

  • Project managing the design, planning and execution of Keseb’s annual virtual Global Democracy Champions Summit, that engaged 400 people from 48 countries in its inaugural year;
  • Managing relationships with vendors and external consultants supporting the summit;
  • Project managing the planning and execution of Keseb’s virtual events for anchor funders and network members; and
  • Supporting Keseb’s Founder and CEO on network partnership research, cultivation and stewardship.

Keseb Insights (~30%)

  • Project managing Keseb’s content generation and dissemination activities;
  • Collaborating with Keseb team members on conducting research, generating insights, and supporting the development of reports, op-eds, white papers etc.;
  • Managing interns and/or external consultants hired to work on discrete content development projects; and
  • Managing communications consultants/partners.

Keseb Democracy Fellowship Program (~20%)

  • Collaborating with Keseb team members on conducting due diligence on candidate organizations and democracy entrepreneurs.; and
  • Providing support on fellowship programming, including in-person and virtual gatherings.


  • Demonstrated passion for and commitment to Keseb’s mission;
  • Experience in project management, budget, and events management
  • Experience and adeptness with technology platforms such as G-suite, Zoom, Calendly, Slack and other platforms as needed;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, simultaneously manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize time and tasks;
  • Highly organized and detail–oriented;
  • Proactive with strong executional skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both oral and written;
  • Creative, learning-oriented problem solver;
  • Enjoys building relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Adaptable and able to manage multiple, changing priorities and stakeholders;
  • Collaborative team player willing to go above and beyond their job description for the success of Keseb’s mission

Location:_ _While the role is virtual, there is a strong preference for candidates based in Boston, MA, New York, New York or Washington, DC. The Manager may need to travel a few times per year.
