The MFI marketing advisor is responsible for providing brand and design support, marketing strategy consultation, and project management for related tasks to HOPE International’s field-based network of microfinance institutions. He/she is responsible for working closely with the MFI and program leadership to support strategic goals through marketing activities. In addition, he/she will collaborate with the marketing team to ensure design work and marketing strategies are brand-consistent, uphold the dignity of clients, and reinforces HOPE’s Christ-centered mission.

Responsibilities


  • Promote and fulfill the mission and vision of HOPE International through the development and implementation of effective field communications, resources, and marketing activities
  • Field Marketing Support
  • Respond to requests for marketing and global branding support in MFI programs, liaising with the CSU MFI and marketing teams for the successful execution of projects
  • Support field MFI programs in marketing strategy and implementation of marketing initiatives, including rhythms for regular check-ins with programs
  • Coordinate global marketing team lateral learning and capacity building, especially related to design and marketing strategy, including developing marketing training resources
  • Field Design Support
  • Collaborate with the marketing team in the layout and design of marketing materials and organizational documents for HOPE’s MFI programs
  • Maintain consistent use of the HOPE brand or program-specific brands in all materials, and ensure that HOPE’s international visual communications clearly communicate our Christ-centered commitment and reinforce the dignity of HOPE’s clients
  • Collaborate with the design team to stay up-to-date with visual brand developments
  • MFI Support Services
  • Support digitization in HOPE’s MFI programs by contributing to digital marketing activities, digital client engagement initiatives, and other systems-related digitization efforts
  • Coordinate updates, adaptations, and/or creation of client or staff training materials, incorporating visual design elements and adult learning principles
  • Support MFI Support Services project management as needed

Qualifications


  • Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, international development, or a related field
  • Self-motivated with a track record demonstrating the capacity to work independently
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, including prioritization of multiple deadlines
  • Ability to liaise across departments, cultures, and time zones
  • International experience and cross-cultural skills are strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of microfinance programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with local and international teams
  • Excellent oral, written, and public communication skills; excellent visual communication skills
  • Fluency in French, Kinyarwanda, or other working language in the HOPE network, a plus
  • Understanding of typography, color theory and color relationships, perspective and space relationships, and brand design
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud; Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in digital marketing, a plus
