Connections Homes is an Atlanta-based nonprofit growing nationally which is focused on youth 18-24 who’ve aged out of foster care or are otherwise without safe, stable connected adults in their lives. Our mission is to prevent poverty and homelessness for at-risk and vulnerable youth without a family by connecting them to a Mentoring Family who commits to being a part of their life for life. Our vision is to enable youth without a family to thrive in life and impact the world from the security of a healthy connection to an adult who cares. Leadership roles at our Central Support levels are critical to our success. The VP, Development reports directly to the Founder & CEO. In this role, the VP, Development will provide leadership and oversight of all resource development strategies and activities including creating, planning and managing successful initiatives in areas such as major gifts, planned giving, grants, annual giving, special events, communications, and stewardship. This role is also responsible for equipping team members to lead and direct significant fundraising to secure philanthropic support to enable our team to achieve our vision and mission.


· Provide leadership and direction to the founder & ceo, board, state executive directors, and fundraising teams in the effective execution of all development activities.

· Provide leadership and guidance for campaign operational strategy, management and processes, including timelines, objectives, and metrics.

· Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects that requires a systematic approach of personal visits and outreach.

· Build the skills, knowledge, and abilities of our team in areas including annual giving, major gifts, events, donor relations, community partnerships, grants, communications and stewardship.

· Develop, edit, and/or review written proposals, letters, and other communication for individuals, corporations, foundations, and grantors.

· Provide consistent follow-up after meetings, events, and other activities to secure commitments or move relationships forward.

· Coordinate and oversee a stewardship program in collaboration with the executive leadership team.

· Demonstrate a passion for the importance and urgency of furthering the Connections Homes mission and vision.

· Provide staff support to board, special projects, advisory councils, and other committees as assigned.

· Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Connections Homes annual operating budget, as well as campaign budges, goals and timelines.

· Maintain donor and financial records in accordance with general accounting and fundraising standards.

· Increase visibility of Connections Homs development activities, maintain good public relations.

· Responsible for producing annual fundraising plan in partnership with founder & ceo and state executive directors.

Job Requirements:

· 5+ years in fundraising and development managing a portfolio of $5m-$10m+

· Minimum of three years of grant proposal writing, research, and reporting.

· Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask.

· Self reliant, good problem solver, results oriented.

· Ability to develop strategic communications content and handle multiple projects on an ongoing basis.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to craft funding proposals in a clear and compelling manner.

· Proficient in Excel, and other financial modeling systems.

· An ability to navigate technology including Airtable, Little Green Light, Google Suite, and Slack.

· Reliable transportation is required.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000, depending on experience
