Position Summary: A teacher is an educationist that has received training to teach
pupils. He/she should observe all the professional code of conduct for teachers and is
directly under the supervision of the Head Teacher.
Position Details
● Full time
● Based in one community, some travel required
● Contract negotiations and renewals are yearly
● Reports to the Head Teacher
Role Responsibilities
● Curriculum development: Design and develop lesson plans and instructional
materials that align with education standards and objectives
● Instruction delivery: Deliver engaging and effective instruction using a variety of
teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles to conduct lessons and
remedials work according to the set timetable
● Classroom management: Create a positive and supportive learning environment
by managing student behavior, maintaining discipline, and promoting mutual
respect by guiding and counseling students
● Assessment and evaluation: Assess student learning through various methods
such as tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations, setting, administering, and
marking internal examinations and provide constructive feedback to facilitate
academic growth
● Individualized instruction: Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students
with varying abilities, learning styles, and backgrounds
● Data management: Keeping and maintaining class records/inventory (register
records or work covered, progress reports, and equipment)

● Collaboration: Collaborates with colleagues, administrators, and parents to
support student learning and development activities and contribute to school- wide initiatives
● Communication: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and
stakeholders through regular updates, progress reports, and parent teacher
conferences
● Continuous improvement: Reflect on teaching practices, seek opportunities for
professional growth, and adapt instruction strategies based on feedback and
evidence based research

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
● Certificate or diploma in education .
● Proven working experience of 2 years position in teaching the specific subject
● Subject matter expertise: Proficiency in the subject area(s) being taught, including
knowledge of content, concepts, and skills
● Pedagogical knowledge: Understanding of effective teaching methods,
instructional strategies, and assessment practices
● Communication skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally
and in writing, to convey complex ideas and information
● Classroom management skills: Ability to establish and maintain a positive
classroom climate conducive to learning, including managing behavior, and
promoting student engagement.
● Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust teaching strategies and approaches to meet the
needs of diverse learners and changing educational contexts
● Collaboration and proficiency: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues,
administrators, and other stakeholders to support student success and contribute
to the school community
● Technology proficiency: Competence in using educational technology tools and
resources to enhance instruction and facilitate learning
